Sample Submission
- Collect samples from branches that are showing symptoms but are not dead
- When submitting canker samples:
- include portion of the branch at the broader between discolored and healthy bark
- When submitting Dutch Elm disease, Oak Wilt, or Verticillium testing:
- branch specimens should consist of four to six pieces
- Pieces measuring between 6-8 inches long and ½-1 inch in diameter
- When submitting Pine Wilt:
- Wedge-shaped sample of wood from the lower trunk or the base of large lower limbs that is a minimum of 1 inch thick.
- Branch from affected area that is a minimum of ½ inch in diameter and 6-8 inches long.
- Fill out a “Submission Form” and include it with the sample.
